What training is required? OSKAR is extremely easy to use and has online support. Most operators learn the system in less than an hour. Administrator options and configuration are more extensive and several hours of training are often appropriate.
What protects my data? OSKAR was designed from the ground up to be a safe, reliable and secure system for running your business. The hardware foundation OSKAR users includes dual redundant hard disks, dual redundant power supplies -- even offsite data backup. You have control over each operators access to confidential data, and all data is stored on the OSKAR SafeServer. Even if someone steals a POS station, they will have no access to the data as the station itself has no hard disk or stored memory.
What is ProScore
? ProScore is like a racer's batting average. Each racer starts out with a ProScore of 100, and it is adjusted up or down after each race depending on who he or she beats or is beaten by. Independent of track configuration or laptime, ProScore is a reliable measure of a racer's skill.
What is XP Score ? XP Score is a 5.5 introduction. While ProScore can go up or down based on how well you do against racers that are better or worse than you, XP Score can only go up based on on how much racing you do and how well you do in those races. Every racer starts at 100 points and only goes up from there. You get one point simply for racing in a race and two more points for each racer that you beat in that race. The more more people you beat, the faster your score goes up. ProScore and XP Score are both calculated for every race so choose one or both for your center.
How do I get the latest version of OSKAR
? OSKAR is delivered as a complete, managed hardware and software solution. You never have to ask for updates, let alone install them. We maintain the most current version of the software on your hardware automatically.
How much does OSKAR cost
? OSKAR is a modular system, so you pay for what you need. Because it is licensed annually, you pay for the software as you go. You purchase the hardware up front. In all cases, we feel that the efficiency, security and marketing features of OSKAR make it a profitable investment for today's karting business. Contact us for a detailed quote.
What about support? First of all, OSKAR is designed to be as easy to use and reliable as possible -- there is even online help. But should you have a question or problem, you can send us a message right from within OSKAR. If it is an emergency, we will be paged and get right back to you. If that isn't possible, we also have telephone support.
How can I keep my data private? OSKAR provides extensive security for your data - you control exactly who has access to what reports. You also control which operators can access which features; so you can ensure, for example, that only managers can approve discounts, or process voids.
How can I make sure my data is safe? We can maintain offsite data backups for you, in the rare case of a system failure (we have had customer centers struck by lightning, literally!). This data is stored in a completely secure, password and biometrically locked, climate-controlled data center.
How
can I manage my business remotely? From any Internet web browser, you view up to the second reports, including product sales and racing. You can also add and remove operators, passwords, products, races, prices, and discounts. You can create and manage email marketing.
What is a customer welcome kiosk
? Similar to the self serve sign-up kiosks at the airport, OSKAR Welcome Kiosks allow guests to sign in for races themselves, saving time and capturing more accurate data. Customized printed waivers print automatically for each guest.
What timing hardware is OSKAR compatible with
? We recommend the AMB hardware and we are AMB dealers. OSKAR is also compatible with the ETC/Chronolec system.
I have some hardware already, can I re-use it with OSKAR
? OSKAR is compatible with all recent AMB hardware. In the past we've tried to reuse customer computer hardware and had little success. OSKAR is a complete, managed solution. We carefully select, test and configure the hardware we use with OSKAR -- and we stand behind it!
Can OSKAR manage multiple locations? OSKAR can support any number of locations. The member database is synchronized between the locations so that guests that sign up at one location may immediately visit another.
What is OSKAR's maximum capacity
? OSKAR has no built-in limits - it will grow to support as many customers, tracks, products, or terminals as you need.
Can I print pictures on member licenses
? Yes, although few centers find it practical as it takes additional time to process customers, reducing peak throughput.
Does OSKAR support accrual accounting? Yes, OSKAR correctly tracks when cash in taken in vs. when it is earned.
What technology is OSKAR built on
? OSKAR is a .NET application running on Windows 2003 Server. The data is stored on Microsoft SQL Server.
How can I keep track of kart maintenance
? OSKAR tracks every lap and race run by each kart. Your mechanics can use this log to track mileage for key kart components.
How can I keep track of inventory
? OSKAR provides detailed reports of all products sold which your staff can use to track which products are selling and need to be reordered.
What if I need to upgrade OSKAR, let's say by adding a new POS machine
? OSKAR is completely modular. You can upgrade your system at any time.
Can you send me a trial disk
? Because OSKAR is a server-based application, it isn't possible to send out trial versions. However, we can arrange for you to experience OSKAR in action -- contact us for details.
